About The Position

We’re seeking the right team member to create new tooling from engineering design, prints and work instructions for our premium offshore fishing boats. This team member will be involved in every aspect of the process and will assist in the operation of cutting parts on the CNC router by accurately reading engineering prints to accurately build the patterns and plugs. This person will complete flange trimming, grind prepping, tabbing framework, parting molds and will apply a variety of release agents, gelcoats, resins, and fiberglass to patterns, plugs, molds and glass masters. Requirements

  • Hard work, drive, motivation and determination
  • Excellent eye and feel for shaping/trueing surfaces using fillers, grinders, hand blocks, straight line sanders, dual action sanders etc.
  • Previous experience using resins, gelcoat, laminate and core materials
  • Removing air pockets (roll out) from laminate using glass rollers and brushes
  • Polishing/buffing surfaces to high gloss
  • Use of all types of air tools including but not limited to grinders, routers, sanders and polishers
  • Ability to accurately read a measuring tape
  • Ability to run laminate chop gun
  • Spraying gelcoat/tooling using gel rigs, top loader spray guns and pressure pots
  • Woodworking skills
  • Ability to use all power tools such as table saws, miter saws, band saws, jointers and planers
  • Knowledge of non-skid pattern installation techniques
  • Regularly required to communicate with others both verbally and in writing.
  • Constantly operates a computer, phone, and other related office machinery.
  • Regularly required to sit; occasionally required to stand/walk/move about the office and factory.
  • Occasionally must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Will be required to wear appropriate PPE if moving about the production areas.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Stand, sit or kneel for periods of 10 hours +
  • Wear personal protective equipment such as proper eyewear, respirator and hearing protection
  • Lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Use air tools for extended periods of time
  • Work overtime as necessary
  • Work in temperatures exceeding 90 degrees
