About The Position

The Facility Services team ensures the reliable operation and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems across Walmart locations. They perform equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and uphold safety and environmental standards. Collaborating with management and service providers, the team prioritizes tasks to support business needs effectively. Utilizing technical expertise, they troubleshoot issues while maintaining accurate records and inventory. Requirements

  • Proven expertise in HVAC repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Valid HVAC and EPA 608 Technician certifications demonstrating compliance with industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigerant handling, including inventory management and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HVACR policies, safety procedures, and environmental guidelines effectively.
  • Experience managing equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs in commercial settings.
  • Skilled in collaborating with stakeholders to develop scopes of work and support business objectives.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, adaptability, and maintaining high ethical standards.
  • Vocational or Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls OR 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
  • Type I/Type II Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program
  • Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and manage workloads with external service providers to meet facility needs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HVACR regulations, including safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, and procurement to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Compile and report budget information, review warranty claims, and develop scopes of work for HVACR projects.
  • Collaborate with management, coworkers, and business partners to prioritize tasks and communicate progress effectively.
  • Provide expert advice to support continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.
