Requirements

  • HVAC certification and EPA 608 Technician Certification demonstrating technical proficiency.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including rooftop units and air handlers.
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls, refrigerants, and equipment inspection to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Ability to manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, and maintain accurate documentation such as refrigerant logs and work orders.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with management, coworkers, and external service providers.
  • Commitment to adhering to federal, state, and local HVACR regulations and safety standards.
  • Vocational or Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls OR 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
  • Type I/Type II Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program
  • Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including rooftop units and air handlers.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HVACR regulations and safety standards.
  • Manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, and order necessary supplies to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Compile and report budget information, review invoices, and develop scopes of work for HVACR projects.
  • Collaborate with management, coworkers, and external service providers to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Complete required documentation such as work orders, refrigerant logs, and expense vouchers.
  • Provide expert guidance on HVACR best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.
