The Technician Quality Control is responsible for performing laboratory analysis, identifies and solves problems to provide efficient and accurate reporting of results. This position involves performing daily operation of hematology systems and testing of blood derived material and/or reagents, ensuring required specifications are met per laboratory standard operating procedures. This position reports to the Hematology Quality Control (HQC) supervisor and is part of the HQC and Microbiology QC department, located in Hialeah and will be an on-site role.

Requirements

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize within defined workflows.
  • Familiar with computer systems and lab instrumentation.
  • An AS degree and at least 1 years’ experience working as a Medical Laboratory technologist or technician, required.
  • Ability to lift 5-10 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Hematology and Microbiology laboratory.
  • Slides reading and microscopic evaluation.
  • Familiarity with quality control, calibration and value assignment concepts, FDA QSR/cGMP, ISO, and raw materials.

Responsibilities

  • Perform established testing and execute quality control procedures.
  • Execute and monitor on-site equipment and tools, ensuring proper functioning.
  • Perform calibration and routine troubleshooting of functionality and performance problems following defined protocols.
  • Support business and customer needs by providing data and performing tests as requested, adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals.
