About The Position

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. The Pipeline Technician's responsibilities include performing or assisting with routine maintenance of electric motors, pumps, control systems, and complex equipment. This role involves troubleshooting problems, maintaining advanced monitoring devices, performing maintenance on medium voltage electrical equipment, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes. The technician will also be responsible for maintenance on mechanical equipment such as valves and actuators, operating custody transfer measurement facilities, performing product quality control tests, and participating in required training and safety programs. Additionally, the role involves reviewing procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards, performing remedial and preventative maintenance, maintaining facility appearance and safety, and providing training and technical support. The technician will utilize precision tools and test equipment, respond to operational emergencies, perform regulatory inspections, locate pipelines, oversee excavations, launch and receive cleaning pigs and smart tools, install pipeline markers, maintain corrosion control equipment, attend damage prevention meetings, and interface with landowners.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
Thorough knowledge of electrical codes and is familiarity with AC voltage (120-480) three phase and single phase plus 24 VDC is required.
Basic computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Minimum of 3 years stable work history, preferably in the energy industry.
Possess a strong commitment to personal and job safety.
Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret alignment sheets, schematics, electrical diagrams, and P&IDs.
Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, decision making skills and strong work ethic.
Able to work independently as well as maintain and promote good working relationships within a team environment.
Able to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
Must be willing to work overtime and callouts.
Required to live within 1 hour of response time of job assignment.

Must be able to lift 60lbs. from ground level.
Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
Must wear special safety equipment while working and must be able to lift and put on emergency breathing apparatus and/or protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

VoTech Certificate, I&E Degree or Associates Degree or related work experience is a preferred.
Previous experience and knowledge of industry related maintenance and repair standards preferred.
Knowledge of the general design and operation of NGL and refined products pipelines.
2-4 years previous experience with the operation, maintenance, and/or construction of a refined products and NGL pipeline facilities preferred.
Knowledge of pumps, regulators, MOV's, electronic controls and medium electrical voltage is desired with an understanding of NGL and refined products pipelines.

Responsibilities

Performing or assisting with routine maintenance of electric motors, pumps such as bearing and mechanical seal replacements, alignments, couplings, sumps, fans, drain piping modifications, etc.
Troubleshoot problems with control systems and complex equipment associated with generators and control and pump stations.
Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot Distributive Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to maximize use of control technology and minimize installation and operating costs.
Maintain advanced monitoring devices (gas, flame, or fire detectors, vibration, and temperature monitors).
Perform routine maintenance on 2400/4160 vac electric motors from 500-6000 hp including medium voltage switchgear and VFD.
Maintenance on other mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, valve actuators (electric and manual), etc.
Assist with replacement of pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment as needed.
Maintain and operate custody transfer measurement facilities and perform product quality control tests.
Participate and successfully complete training programs, process safety management reviews, and safety meetings required to comply with state and federal regulations.
Must meet the requirements of the Company's Operator Qualification program.
Reviews procedures as necessary to ensure compliance of all company and industry standards to meet all regulatory agency requirements.
Performs remedial and preventative maintenance and maintains facility appearance and safety through good housekeeping practices inside and outside of the facilities.
Perform preventative and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment and parts associated with this equipment.
Provide training and technical support.
Utilizes precision tools and test equipment as needed.
Responds to operational emergencies.
Performs regulatory required inspections.
Locate pipelines as needed and oversee excavations and line crossings.
Launch and receive cleaning pigs and assist with the launch and receiving of smart tools.
Install pipeline markers and do routine inspections on ROW.
Maintain and operate corrosion control equipment.
Attend and participate in damage prevention meetings.
Interface with various landowners including private, state, federal, etc.
