About The Position

The Technician – Motion Solutions: Control Panel assembles, routes, installs, repairs, inspects, and tests wiring, electrical panels, pneumatic assemblies, and related electrical or electronic components in support of Motion Solutions customer and production needs. This role performs work under general supervision, applies solid working knowledge of electrical assembly practices, handles moderately complex issues, and escalates more complex matters to higher-level staff or leadership as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Requires 2–4 years of related electrical assembly, panel building, wiring, production, mechanical, pneumatic, or technical experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of electrical assembly practices, panel wiring, component installation, pneumatic assembly, production documentation, and routine quality requirements.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions, drawings, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, work orders, and related documentation.
  • Ability to assemble, route, install, inspect, repair, and test wiring, panels, subassemblies, and related electrical or electronic components with quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, soldering or related assembly equipment, measuring instruments, diagnostic tools, and standard production equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, concentration, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and visual acuity required to complete precise assembly and inspection work.
  • Basic math skills and ability to verify dimensions, tolerances, clearances, and component placement using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Ability to identify routine quality or performance issues, troubleshoot standard problems, make appropriate adjustments, and escalate complex issues when needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work cooperatively with coworkers and other departments, and present oneself professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to prioritize assigned work, meet deadlines, complete documentation accurately, and maintain reliable onsite attendance.
  • Onsite regular and reliable attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training, electrical assembly coursework, skilled trades training, or related hands-on assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience reading electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, or work instructions preferred.
  • May demonstrate leadership skills by providing informal guidance, coaching, or mentoring to less experienced employees on standard work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and project documentation to assemble electrical panels, pneumatic assemblies, and related components.
  • Assemble, route, install, and repair wiring, electrical components, units, subassemblies, support structures, and assembly casings using appropriate tools, fasteners, soldering, or related assembly methods.
  • Build electrical panels to UL508A specifications and MFCP drawing, quality, and production standards.
  • Build pneumatic assemblies to MFCP standards and drawing specifications; assemble, test, label, and document work as required.
  • Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, circuits, dimensions, and clearances to confirm conformance with specifications using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and related instruments.
  • Test functional performance of wiring, panels, assemblies, and related systems to ensure components are operational and meet quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot routine assembly, wiring, documentation, or quality issues; make standard corrections and escalate moderately complex or non-routine concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate project, production, inspection, testing, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with IPS builds, installations, and related production or customer-support activities as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow applicable safety, quality, and company procedures.
  • Provide informal guidance, coaching, or mentoring to less experienced team members on standard assembly practices and procedures (for Level III).
