About The Position

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Medical Service Technician / Delivery Driver position. The Medical Service Technician services various types of medical equipment in efficient, accurate manner. The Medical Non CDL Route Delivery Driver is responsible for the delivery, set-up and pick up of DME equipment, supplemental oxygen products and supplies to home care patients within a prescribed and assigned geographical area.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's license
  • No at fault accidents in the past 3 years
  • Possess ability to repair, maintain, clean and package various types of medical equipment
  • Possess strong mechanical skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Accurately enter data into computer
  • Read repair orders, manuals, computer screen, etc.
  • Communicate information accurately by telephone and in person using good customer service skills
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Lift equipment from floor to work bench weighing up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
  • Complete tasks and solve problems independently with little supervision
  • Ability to lift beds weighing over 100 lbs
  • Work in environment with fumes, odors, dust, gas and poor ventilation
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (e.g. grasp, push, pull, lift, use hand and power tools, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Electronic technician degree or prior experience as medical repair technician preferred

Responsibilities

  • Repair and perform preventive maintenance on various types of medical equipment
  • Perform functional testing on various types of medical equipment
  • Re-certify medical equipment to Accreditation Body standards
  • Prepare written documentation that serviced equipment meets Accreditation Body standards.
  • Clean/disinfect serviced medical equipment
  • Package serviced medical equipment for shipping and place tag on equipment showing it is ready for patient use
  • Enter service orders into computer
  • Deliver durable medical equipment, as well as other home care related equipment to specific points of delivery
  • Protect patient PHI per HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide patient/client orientation instructing on the proper use of equipment
  • Work with patients/clients to solve a variety of problems, thereby acting as a company field representative
  • Some On-call required
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary
