About The Position

As a technician on our marine production team, you will assist in the assembly, test, and repair of valves and control systems designed to operate in shipboard environments. Our high-performance motion and flow control solutions serve in mission critical applications on surface ships, submarines, and deep submergence vessels. Working at our state-of-the-art heated and air-conditioned manufacturing facility in Montville, NJ, you’ll collaborate with our cross-functional production and engineering team to achieve quality and on-time delivery goals. By completing our optional on-site solder training program, you’ll enhance your skillset and position yourself for broader opportunities.

Requirements

  • 2 – 5 years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing/testing environment/military experience or equivalent
  • Mechanical or electro-mechanical products measurement and testing experience required
  • Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude and abilities to function test products
  • Knowledge/experience with variety of electronic test equipment
  • General knowledge/experience in the areas of high-pressure fluids or gasses.
  • Knowledge of Lean concepts, ESD, FOD control and personal protective equipment
  • Ability to learn new things and work with some supervision
  • Strong attention to detail for complex instructions and documentation while maintaining quality output
  • Effectively demonstrate time management during batch processes
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills required for interacting with all levels of personnel within the organization
  • Computer literate, with MS Office experience and basic PC skills
  • Must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Primary duty is to ensure that products perform their proposed functions in a satisfactory manner
  • Read, interpret documents (i.e. procedures, schematics/technical drawings, etc.) and use necessary measuring devices/equipment to confirm tooling/fixturing geometries and dimensions
  • Conduct all work in accordance with approved technical data, customer specifications and regulatory requirements including MIL-specs
  • Set up and use electronic instruments, load testing devices, microscopes, various measuring instruments
  • Setup and operate tools required for assembly including, but not limited to; standard hand tools, load testing devices, micrometers, depth mics, calipers and microscopes
  • Setup and operate equipment required for testing including, but not limited to; multimeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, pressure, gauges and transducers, data recorders, load cells, and flow meters
  • Install, operate and maintain high-pressure nitrogen, helium and hydraulic fluid test equipment
  • Assemble products, install internal components; use arbor press/fixtures; apply lock wire and torque seal
  • Conduct end-of-line functional testing on valve components and record results
  • Assist with testing equipment maintenance and/or repair
  • Maintain accurate parts and part count for each job
  • Identify causes for test failures, perform rework, and submit suggestions for corrective action to supervisor for approval
  • Seek, document, and support Lean ideas to improve the efficiencies of the company
  • Maintain all hand tools in clean working condition
  • Notify supervisor of any equipment that requires repair
  • Properly handle and dispose of chemicals used, utilizing proper PPE (as required)
  • Identify any routings discrepancy and notify supervisor so changes can be made if necessary
  • Work in a clean room environment with full standard PPE (Tyvek suit, safety glasses, steel toe boats, etc.)
  • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization
  • Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and respond to actions, in support of company initiatives/goals, as directed
  • Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values
