About The Position

This role involves setting up, configuring, and maintaining various low voltage systems, including security, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video, and network cabling. The technician will be responsible for running, terminating, and labeling cables, performing maintenance checks, troubleshooting system issues, and providing technical support and training to end-users. The position requires adherence to all safety guidelines, local, state, and federal regulations, and maintaining accurate records of all work performed. The technician will also evaluate and perform system upgrades, collaborate with other team members, and communicate effectively with clients. A key aspect of the role is staying updated with industry trends and applying expertise to improve processes and solutions. The position also emphasizes demonstrating and encouraging respect for individuals, acting with integrity, putting customers first, and striving for excellence in all tasks.

Requirements

  • Must hold state and jurisdiction required certification and license for the state/jurisdiction of work. Recipical license may apply
  • Licensing requirements vary by state
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Prior work experience in role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.

  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (for example, Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems)

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and configures various low voltage systems (for example, security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling).
  • Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
  • Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability.
  • Identifies and resolves issues in low voltage systems promptly to minimize downtimes.
  • Fixes any faults or damages in systems, ensuring they are restored to optimal working condition.
  • Provides technical support.
  • Provides training and support to end users on how to operate and maintain low voltage systems.
  • Addresses customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follows all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Generates reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities.
  • Evaluates existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed.
  • Performs system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards.
  • Works closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Stays abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
