About The Position

The Technician Level 3 will be a team member on our avionics and defense team. This role repairs or manufactures moderately complex LRU instruments and components to specifications, customer expectations, and Thomas Global Systems approved procedures in a clean and safe work environment, with assistance as needed. In addition, this position accurately prepares and completes appropriate documentation.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in using specialized avionics test equipment and software.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and of defense industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical dexterity and the ability to work in confined / dark spaces.
  • Confirmed NEGATIVE results for drug and alcohol testing in compliance with 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant technical education or avionics certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience as an avionics technician or in a related field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct build and calibration on avionics and defense equipment to ensure they meet industry and regulatory standards, using specialized test equipment and software.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including equipment manuals, test results, service reports and updating work order status as required by Thomas Global Systems approved procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals and FAA regulations.
  • Update and load software programs into systems as needed, ensuring they are up to date with the latest firmware and navigation databases.
  • Ensure all avionics repairs and maintenance work adhere to industry and regulators standards, including FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations or other relevant aviation authorities.
  • Maintains and cleans test equipment and work area as required.
  • Comply with safety protocols and guidelines when working with electronic systems that can affect the safe operation of aircraft.
  • Collaborate with other technicians.
  • Stay updated on advancements in avionics technology and regulations through training and professional development to maintain certification and knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
