About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment. This role offers the opportunity to build skills on a variety of equipment, develop new skills for a career track in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. The fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty lines locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting skills.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems & troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
- Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
Responsibilities

- Make repairs on equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
