This position requires a basic understanding of internal combustion engines, electrical circuits, and mechanical mechanisms as they apply to the repair of power generation equipment. The technician will learn to diagnose component malfunctions, perform service and repair actions under guidance, and assist other technicians. Responsibilities include cleaning equipment, learning to use technical manuals and schematics, completing repair orders, maintaining a clean shop, and adhering to safety policies. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is also required. Additional duties include performing tasks as requested by the manager, providing quality customer service, operating an overhead crane and forklift, working with minimal supervision, handling wire, washing equipment, assisting with loading/unloading trucks, being on call (potentially offshore), and assisting with shop maintenance. Basic computer skills are needed for troubleshooting programs, and good communication skills are essential for customer service and operational updates. Reliable transportation is necessary for on-call duties, with mileage reimbursement provided. Training will be provided during and after the probationary period, including basic safety, technician level 1 training, and forklift/overhead crane operation.
