About The Position

Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Technician / Laborer to join the team in Castaic, CA! The schedule is subject to change, but will most likely be Monday – Friday 10:30am-7pm plus every other Saturday 8:30am-2pm. The starting pay range for this position will be $28-30/hour. The pay range for this job category is $28-33/hour. Your hourly rate will depend on experience and certifications. Requirements

• Ability to get the 40 hour certification once hired is required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness
• Ability to adhere to work schedule, take initiative, and follow through on challenges as they arise
• Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
• Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, customers, and other employees

Nice To Haves

• HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) training is highly preferred.
• Experience working with hazardous waste is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Replacing and repairing valves and tanks used for holding liquid
• Moving and securing hoses from trucks to tanks
• Communicating clearly with other employees and vendors regarding liquid management
• Working with Compliance Manager on other projects as needed
