The Technician IV is an advanced technical contributor supporting Chemline and Blast Level IV operations within UCT’s SSB services environment. This role performs complex chemical processing, precision blasting, and detailed inspection of semiconductor chamber components, ensuring ultra‑clean surfaces and strict adherence to contamination control standards. This position leads assigned process lines, approves production documentation and test results, and partners with engineering and quality teams to support process development, first‑article qualifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Typically 4–6+ years of relevant experience in: Semiconductor services / chamber parts cleaning, Chemical processing, plating, or wet bench operations, Blasting, coating prep, or precision surface finishing, Aerospace, medical device, or other high‑precision industries (transferable)
  • Strong expertise in one or more of the following: Chemical processing / wet bench operations, Media blasting / surface prep (aerospace, semiconductor, coatings, or similar), Cleanroom manufacturing or contamination‑sensitive environments
  • Deep understanding of process control, chemical safety, and contamination risks in precision manufacturing
  • Ability to interpret technical work instructions, process specs, and quality documentation
  • Experience with SPC, data logging, and process validation
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to work independently on complex processes
  • Ability to lead workflows and provide technical guidance to team members
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems (Excel, Word, MES or similar)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
  • Ability to obtain respirator certification
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable to site needs)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work overtime or flexible shifts as needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced chemical cleaning, stripping, and surface preparation of semiconductor chamber parts using controlled chemistries and processes
  • Execute precision blasting (media, grit, or specialty blasting) to remove deposition without damaging part integrity
  • Prepare, monitor, and adjust chemical tanks and process chemistries following strict recipes and controls
  • Perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections, ensuring parts meet UHP cleanliness and defect criteria
  • Review and approve travelers, test data, and Certificates of Analysis (CoA) supporting validated cleaning processes
  • Lead assigned Chemline and Blast production lines, prioritizing work and ensuring throughput and quality targets are met
  • Support first‑article processing, R&D trials, and new process introduction in partnership with engineering
  • Identify and escalate process deviations, contamination risks, or quality escapes, driving root‑cause resolution
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals in compliance with safety and environmental standards
  • Follow strict cleanroom protocols and contamination control practices
  • Train and mentor junior technicians; may provide technical direction as a line lead
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process capability, reduce defects, and improve cycle time
  • Maintain accurate documentation and production records in accordance with quality systems
  • May support coating prep steps, masking, etching, drying, and bake operations as required
  • Occasional local delivery or customer interaction as needed
