About The Position

Success in this role means ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of software tools used to evaluate advanced vehicle systems. On a typical day, you’ll work hands‑on with vehicles, software, and data—collaborating with engineers and technicians to support meaningful ADAS and ADS evaluations in real‑world and test‑track environments.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a technical or academic field that provides a foundation in automotive systems, electronics, or similar disciplines. In place of a degree, a minimum of 2 years of hands‑on technical experience supporting vehicle systems, software, or testing environments
  • Ability to use data acquisition equipment and diagnostic tools to support vehicle evaluation and troubleshooting
  • Experience updating vehicle system software and confirming proper system functionality
  • Ability to interpret electrical system drawings, specifications, manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical standards
  • Experience using OBD and CAN tools to troubleshoot vehicle and system issues
  • Ability to develop or troubleshoot software or scripts used to support vehicle evaluation and automated testing
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively on a team and communicate technical information clearly
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30–50 % to support testing activities
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed to support testing schedules and project timelines

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certification that demonstrates advanced technical expertise
  • Toyota driving certifications or equivalent testing credentials
  • Experience supporting ADAS or ADS vehicle evaluations in R&D or test environments
  • Hands‑on experience writing scripts to automate testing or evaluation processes

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the functionality and safety of the Integrated Vehicle Systems software tools used in vehicle evaluation
  • Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot ADAS and ADS test software, including data acquisition and data analysis tools
  • Support public road evaluations by ensuring software performance and vehicle configurations produce accurate, usable data
  • Support closed‑course testing to validate software tools against functional and performance requirements
  • Collect, analyze, and help interpret vehicle performance data to support engineering evaluation and decision‑making
  • Troubleshoot vehicle systems using diagnostic tools and collaborate with cross‑functional partners to resolve issues
  • Update vehicle system software and validate proper functionality after changes
  • Build, modify, and use test fixtures, hand tools, and shop tools to support vehicle testing activities
  • Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to deliver high‑quality results
