About The Position

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost. We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Technician, Instrumentation & Electrical located in Sulphur, LA. General Description: The Technician, Instrumentation & Electrical will report to the Operations Manager. The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and instrumentation equipment that support safe and reliable facility and pipeline operations. This role ensures operational uptime while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; Technical degree in Electrical, or applicable nationally recognized standard Certification. (i.e. NCCER / NICET).
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V
  • Experience with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong knowledge of electrical industrial standards and regulations
  • Applied knowledge of electrical and controls such as medium and low voltage generators, motors, switchgear, motor control centers, cathodic protection, motor operated valves, lighting
  • Knowledge with CMMS systems work management process (Work order process)
  • Interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with MOC, PSSR, HAZID/HAZOP
  • Periodic travel to project sites and consultant offices
  • TWIC holder or ability to obtain TWIC
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and meet company insurability requirements
  • May be required to possess a commercial driver’s license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills are required

Nice To Haves

  • Maintenance planning and scheduling experience preferred
  • Understanding of project development and delivery
  • Experience in natural gas and/or midstream operations
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Journeyman Electrician preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate in commissioning activities
  • Assist with the CMMS build out
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems up to 480V (motors, MCCs, breakers, transformers)
  • Troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation including pressure, flow, temperature, and level devices
  • Calibrate transmitters, control valves, and analytical equipment
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and control systems
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, and SCADA interfaces
  • Interpret electrical schematics, one-lines, loop diagrams, and P&IDs
  • Support startup, commissioning, and shutdown activities
  • Maintain documentation, work orders, and compliance records
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards
  • Participate in emergency response and after-hours call-outs as required
  • Functions as Maintenance SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Electrical systems
  • Understand maintenance work scope and applicable Operations and Maintenance processes and procedures
  • Understand the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance electrical work according to VG Pipeline HSSE process, procedures, standards and regulations
  • Provide tracking, status reporting, and project progress updates to project management
  • Responsible for population of Load Sheets associated with the workstream.
  • Functions as interface between Maintenance, Engineering and other VG departments
  • Coordinate identification of local suppliers for spare data/pricing information
  • Travel including nights and weekends, as needed
  • Other duties as required
