About The Position

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Cornell is a world-class department that conducts research and teaching in the area of general molecular biology and genetics. The Liu Lab uses the free-living nematode C. elegans as a model system to discover new players and dissect their mechanisms of action in a highly conserved signaling pathway, the BMP (bone morphogenetic protein) pathway. We use a combination of molecular, genetic and biochemical approaches for these studies. Results from these studies will contribute to the general understanding of developmental processes and fundamental mechanisms involved in cell-cell signaling. While position responsibilities vary, every member of our community is expected to foster a culture of belonging and a healthy work environment by communicating across differences; being cooperative, collaborative, open, and welcoming; showing respect, compassion, and empathy; engaging and supporting others regardless of background or perspective; speaking up when others are being excluded or treated inappropriately; and supporting work/life integration of oneself and others. Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), provide routine technical support of lab operations in molecular biology, genetics and cell biology for a developmental biology research laboratory.
