About The Position

Eaton’s eMobility Division is currently seeking a Test Engineering Technician III to join their team. This position is based at their Marshall, Michigan facility. The Test Engineering Technician III provides advanced hands-on technical support for laboratory testing through the build, setup, instrumentation, troubleshooting, calibration, and sustainment of test systems, fixtures, and lab equipment. This role supports safe, efficient, and repeatable test execution across multiple product lines and serves as a technical resource within the lab.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; OR Associate degree/military technical training with a minimum of 3 years; OR bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an automotive, electrical, mechanical, testing, machining, or engineering environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with test operations, electromechanical assembly, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and computer-based documentation.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate guidance and communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, and lab leadership.
  • Candidate will not need sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Candidate must reside within 50 miles of Marshall, Mi.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting fixture fabrication, test stand assembly, or equipment modifications.
  • Experience with CAD, calibration activities, or specialized lab equipment.
  • Experience supporting multiple product lines or multiple test areas within a development lab.
  • Electronics, mechanics, electro-mechanics, SMT/wired PCBA component soldering/de-soldering, and computer applications, or relevant technical experience.
  • Communication/Technical Writing/Cross Functional Team Work

Responsibilities

  • Build, modify, assemble, and instrument test fixtures, test stands, and lab hardware.
  • Execute testing in accordance with approved test plans, work instructions, and safety requirements.
  • Set up and operate instrumentation and data acquisition systems to collect accurate test data.
  • Perform equipment checkout, calibration verification, and troubleshooting to maintain test readiness.
  • Support documentation of test setups, results, and observations for laboratory reports.
  • Mentor junior technicians on equipment use, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Assist with process improvements, lab organization, and day-to-day operational support.
