About The Position

Tooling Maintenance Mechanic is a position within the Tooling Repair department. The Tooling Repair department is responsible for new tooling, existing tooling and equipment reliability sent to the field for various projects in relationship with contractual and non-contractual obligations. As a Maintenance Mechanic you are responsible to ensure equipment is functioning safely and limit any shortages for equipment in respective areas. This includes but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, pumping, and hoists/crane systems.

Requirements

High school or GED required
1 – 3 years on-the-job/other related experience equivalent preferable
System skills - Microsoft Office, SAP.
Ability to create a safe work area

Standing/Sitting: Requires full time standing with limited resting periods and to walk distances. May sit for extended periods if required.
Able to climb stairs or ladders as required. Able to work off of step stools and ladders.
Able to Lift/push/pull/carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
Body positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or waist) and stoop. Able to work in awkward positions as required, including overhead work. Able to squat/kneel/crawl/reach as required.
Work content: Able to use/hold/manipulate small tools and parts with hands. Simple grasping, power grasping and fine manipulation is required. Able to use inspection tools and perform torquing operations.
Vision/Hearing: High level Hand/Eye coordination required. Corrective lenses may be used. Eye protection required in many instances. Color differentiation may be required. Must be able to hear at level required for position.

Responsibilities

Leads a team of 4 or more Maintenance Technicians with primary assignments in the same production area
Owner of Maintenance Support processes within assigned production area
Ensures that production and maintenance processes will be conducted safely
Works closely with Planning staff to ensure that the production plan is met
Understands process performance capabilities and takes action to meet and exceed those capabilities
Assists with the troubleshooting of process problems and implements solutions which reduce downtime and minimize maintenance costs
Monitors process equipment performance to identify potential errors and implements solutions to eliminate reoccurrence of those problems
Co-facilitator or task-implementation lead of process improvement projects
Participation in technology transfer projects, new process introduction, and production capacity expansions
Assists with development of first and second line maintenance on equipment
Leads preventative maintenance plan and ensures execution in assigned production area
Interfaces with engineering and parts procurement to improve and maintain availability of spare parts
Ensures data integrity across all shifts in their process area
Recognized as SME in their process areas
Other duties as assigned
