About The Position

Sunstate Equipment Co. is hiring a Technician III-Shop. We are a company that values safety and people, and we take care of our employees. This role is based in our Pasadena, TX shop, with occasional needs for field maintenance and repair. Pay is dependent on experience and paid weekly. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime eligibility. There is a pay range dependent on experience and a discretionary quarterly branch performance bonus.

Requirements

• A minimum 2+ years’ experience as diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment rental background preferred.
• Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems.
• Experience performing major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, as well as drive trains is required.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to do the job; averaging $5,000+ in value.
• Team-player, you work well supporting your team to achieve goals.
• You are a self-starter and motivated to be successful.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating.
• Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW).
• Prepare and maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records.
• Support your team to achieve goals.
