About The Position

The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years or more related experience.
Ability to function in a team environment interfacing effectively with both customers and teammates from different disciplines.
Applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

Nice To Haves

Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor’s or Master’s, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

Responsibilities

Work in a team environment effectively interacting with multiple disciplines including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and process control engineers.
Perform precision cleaning and verification of parts, lubrication of delicate hardware, working with solvents, acids, and bases while using personal protective equipment. Employee must comply with all safety and environmental regulations.
Read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings and templates for blanket fabrication and installation.
Utilize hand tools for fabrication, i.e., scissors, utility knives, tape dispensers, tape measures, and straight edges, arbor press, soldering iron, and calipers.
Industrial sewing machine operation.
Install flight and GSE blankets as required for program support.
Complex mechanical assembly operations requiring engineering drawing interpretation, following shop order operations, and assembly utilizing hand tools including torque wrenches.
Work at heights utilizing man lifts and ladders.
May require travel in support of program execution.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
