About The Position

The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Research Technician II to support cutting-edge biomedical research within the Department of Biomedical and Translational Sciences. This position provides laboratory support through tissue culture, molecular biology, protein purification, and laboratory operations that enable high-quality, reproducible research. Requirements

High school diploma with at least two years of relevant laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working in a biological, molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell culture laboratory.
Demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to accurately maintain laboratory records and follow established protocols.
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research team while fostering a respectful work environment.

Responsibilities

Maintaining mammalian and insect tissue culture lines, preparing culture media, reagents, and laboratory solutions to support research activities.
Assisting with molecular biology and protein expression techniques, including molecular cloning, recombinant protein production, and protein purification.
Supporting laboratory operations by maintaining equipment, organizing supplies, receiving shipments, sterilizing laboratory materials, and ensuring a safe, clean research environment.
Maintaining accurate laboratory records, documenting experimental procedures, and contributing to reproducible, high-quality scientific research.
