About The Position

As a Technician II you will support non-destructive examinations in both nuclear and non-nuclear environments. You will conduct inspections, interpret and document results, and evaluate findings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. You will report to the Manager of Reactor & BOP Inspection Resources/Timing and be located at our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. This role requires extensive travel (60% of time). When not traveling, you are expected onsite.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience as a Level II Technician.
  • At least two (2) years of experience performing non-destructive inspections of nuclear and non-nuclear power plants according to approved procedures and codes.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Code.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
  • Ability to travel during the spring and fall with multiple 1-3 weeks work trips.
  • Extensive travel, maintenance of “Unescorted Access” status, and working with hazardous materials.
  • Familiarity with the scope and limitations of the method in which certified and be able to perform job duties with little or no assistance

Responsibilities

  • Conduct non-destructive examinations according to written procedures.
  • Evaluate and document the results of the examinations following applicable standards and specifications.
  • Investigate and interpret different industry standards, codes, and procedures throughout the nuclear and non-nuclear fields.
  • Help develop new techniques and inspection procedures and review existing techniques to refine processes to support the nuclear and non-nuclear industries.
  • Work in a team environment with other NDT personnel to support field projects with procedures and examination plans.
  • Participate in performance-based training programs to acquire and maintain certifications and keep with current technology.
  • Participate in safety training to acquire the skills needed to perform work in hazardous environments and operate safety equipment and systems.
  • Operate field service equipment at customer sites, including non-destructive examination (NDE) technology, robotic systems and computer networks.
  • Perform all assigned tasks under general supervision, with a high degree of quality, and within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines.
  • Document all quality related issues.
  • Exercise team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contactors, customers and other departments.
