Technician I Top Cap, Rotating Days | A-Shift | 7AM-7PM
About The Position
The Manufacturing Technician maintains production machinery in proper operating order through preventative maintenance and has demonstrated knowledge of up to 10% of SOPs within a specific manufacturing process. The role includes exposure to troubleshooting, repair, and improvement activities, and also requires performing operator functions. The position is in the Maintenance Top Cap department and follows a rotating day shift, A-Shift, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The work may require personal protective equipment, potentially including a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, a face mask, a bump cap, or a full hazmat suit with a respirator. The role includes physical activity such as sitting, walking, standing, and lifting. Panasonic Energy of North America manufactures cylindrical lithium-ion cells for Tesla electric vehicles and energy storage systems at its battery factory near Reno, Nevada.
Requirements
- Some high school education is required.
- Working-level knowledge of English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is required.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of production or manufacturing experience.
- Skill with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities
- Check settings, gauge readings, and sensors regularly to keep machines operating within proper specifications.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines according to documented requirements.
- Make ongoing visual and audible observations of machines to detect abnormalities.
- Tighten bolts and inspect belts and chains for wear and proper tension.
- Perform simple machinist duties, including periodic machine cleaning and lubrication, changing oil, and swapping parts.
- Restore machines to correct operating functions.
- Make necessary mechanical and pneumatic adjustments.
- Recover all error codes.
- Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment while performing duties.
- Report faulty operations and defective material to appropriate supervision.
- Support machine and process modifications to help increase departmental efficiency and production.
- Partner with operators on cleaning tasks, minor repairs, and machine adjustments.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of work performed on equipment and machines.
- Perform operator functions as required.
