About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. This position is based in our satellite production facility in Midland, TX, with full relocation provided. We’re hiring a Technician I (Production, Assembly, QV Solar Panels) is responsible for performing assembly and production tasks in support of satellite system manufacturing. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow standardized work instructions, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. The position supports manufacturing operations by assembling components, handling materials, and ensuring products meet established quality and performance standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 years of experience in: Wire harness assembly preferred, Electrical/mechanical assembly preferred, Manufacturing/production environment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks with attention to detail
  • Ability to meet production and quality expectations
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the role with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environments
  • Familiarity with hand tools, measuring devices, and basic mechanical processes
  • Experience working in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing settings

Responsibilities

  • Assemble satellite subcomponents and production parts in accordance with work instructions and engineering specifications
  • Sort, stage, and organize materials on tables, racks, or bins
  • Use hand tools, fixtures, and measuring/test equipment to complete assembly tasks
  • Clean, package, and prepare completed assemblies for storage or shipment
  • Pack, seal, label, and move materials and finished goods as required
  • Handle small parts and components requiring manual dexterity
