About The Position

As a Weighing and Blending Technician I, you will be responsible for accurately identifying and verifying raw materials, ensuring they match the batch record, and confirming the correct amounts are weighed and used in the compounding procedure. This role requires the proper use of scales, utensils, containers, and labeling to maintain ingredient integrity and accuracy according to batch records.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate.
  • Minimum 6-months experience in an FDA regulated industry.
  • Ability to use scales of various capacities.
  • Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, rounding).
  • Good understanding of metric weight system.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during work shifts.
  • Ability to routinely stoop, bend, kneel, lift, reach, pull, push, and tilt objects.
  • Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
  • Ability to manipulate heavier containers.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying raw materials by comparing description and code number to batch record.
  • Selecting equipment as stated in procedure.
  • Adding materials as written in procedure.
  • Attaching labels to bulk blend containers.
  • Selecting the proper scale based on the amount of material required.
  • Ensuring scales are calibrated, level, and in good working order before each use.
  • Weighing and/or verifying amounts weighed match amounts on batch record.
  • Attaching weighing labels to BR and labeling weighed ingredients.
  • Operating all blenders in the Blending department.
  • Operating some grinding/milling equipment.
  • Performing lock-out tag-out of equipment.
  • Performing cleaning of blenders, utensils, screens, containers, and area.
  • Performing or verifying batch record entries.
  • Making entries in Equipment/Area Cleaning/Use logs.
  • Making entries in component control cards.
  • Reporting any foreign material or discrepancy between different lots or containers of materials to Lead/Supervisor.
  • Ensuring raw material packaging is clean, sealed, and properly labeled before and after weighing raw material.
  • Ensuring batch records, equipment log books, and other relevant records are up-to-date.
  • Following established department SOPs, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment and performing job duties in a safe manner.
  • Performing other job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.
