AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Summary The Technician I (Production, Assembly, QV Solar Panels) is responsible for performing assembly and production tasks in support of satellite system manufacturing. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow standardized work instructions, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. The position supports manufacturing operations by assembling components, handling materials, and ensuring products meet established quality and performance standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks with attention to detail
- Ability to meet production and quality expectations
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the role with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environments
- Familiarity with hand tools, measuring devices, and basic mechanical processes
- Experience working in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing settings
Responsibilities
- Assemble satellite subcomponents and production parts in accordance with work instructions and engineering specifications
- Sort, stage, and organize materials on tables, racks, or bins
- Use hand tools, fixtures, and measuring/test equipment to complete assembly tasks
- Clean, package, and prepare completed assemblies for storage or shipment
- Pack, seal, label, and move materials and finished goods as required
- Handle small parts and components requiring manual dexterity
- Follow standardized procedures to ensure product quality and consistency
- Inspect own work and identify opportunities for improvement
- Meet established productivity and production targets
- Report defects, discrepancies, or process issues to supervision
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Comply with applicable safety standards under the Occupational Safety and Health Act
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow instructions and respond appropriately to supervisory direction
- Communicate effectively with team members and support cross-functional operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs
