About The Position

Saber Power Services is seeking an experienced Technician – Circuit Breaker to support the inspection, repair, maintenance, testing, and refurbishment of medium- and high-voltage circuit breakers and related electrical equipment. This position will work primarily in the breaker shop while supporting field operations as needed. The Circuit Breaker Technician will perform mechanical and electrical work associated with circuit breakers, switchgear, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, reading electrical drawings, and using electrical testing equipment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working with electrical equipment, circuit breakers, switchgear, or related systems preferred.
  • Electrical, industrial maintenance, or electrical testing experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment preferred.
  • NETA certification or electrical trade certification is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and technical instructions.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced shop and field environment.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, and reassemble medium- and high-voltage circuit breakers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on circuit breakers and switchgear.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and identify required repairs.
  • Perform electrical testing and verify equipment is operating properly.
  • Assist with testing, calibration, and functional checks of circuit breaker components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Document inspection findings, repairs, test results, and equipment conditions accurately.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, NETA standards, company procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain tools, testing equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and preparing electrical equipment for shipment or field installation.
  • Work with supervisors and other technicians to meet project schedules and quality requirements.
  • Support field service activities and travel to customer sites when required.
  • Follow all company safety policies and applicable OSHA and NFPA 70E requirements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
