About The Position

This is a permanent part-time position (approximately 25 hours per week). You will play an important role in the operation, maintenance and repair of hydroelectric generator systems. With the mentorship of an experienced Hydro Operator, your main tasks will include practicing safe work habits, ensuring personnel and contractors follow safety policies, performing station and unit operations, and identifying and repairing station hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Requirements

• High voltage transmission and distribution training and experience
• Working knowledge of the OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E and Arc Flash requirements
• Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings and schematics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Flexibility to add skills and work in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Be able and willing to perform physical labor as needed
• Knowledge of windows based software including Outlook, Excel, Word
• Valid driver’s license with clean record required

Nice To Haves

• Experience with repair and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems and related equipment is preferred as follows: Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulics, PLC troubleshooting and programming

Responsibilities

• Practice safe work habits and follow correct safety policies and procedures
• Ensure that company personnel, contractors, and consultants are following company approved safety policies, procedures, and that company property is protected by performing the applicable duties
• Perform station and unit operations as required
• Identify and repair as necessary, station hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems including analytical problem solving/troubleshooting
