(USA) Technician, General Facilities Maintenance
About The Position
This role is essential for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of food equipment in Walmart stores, contributing to overall store performance and customer satisfaction. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing commercial food equipment, developing and adhering to maintenance schedules, training store associates on equipment care and cleaning, and managing work orders and maintenance logs. Success in this role means reduced maintenance and repair expenses, ensured safety and proper functionality of all serviced equipment, well-trained store associates, accurate documentation, high levels of customer service, and limited risk of cross-contamination in food production areas.
Requirements
- Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade OR 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
- License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located.
- Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and repairing commercial food equipment.
- Developing and adhering to maintenance schedules.
- Training Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning.
- Managing work orders and maintenance logs.
- Providing clear, transparent, and respectful communication.
- Handling changing and competing demands.
- Collaborating with team members and practicing Servant Leadership.
- Servicing Food Equipment including Combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers.
- Servicing Grease and Oil Systems including oil/water separators and used cooking oil tanks.
- Utilizing skills in Plumbing, Electrical, and Carpentry.
- Performing Material Handling Equipment Maintenance.
