About The Position

Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures. Performs major and minor repairs on facilities equipment or fixtures utilizing multiple craft skills. Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors. Demonstrates uptodate expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Respects the individual by demonstrating engagement and commitment to the team, developing others, and building strong, trusting relationships. Acts with integrity by maintaining and promoting the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance. Serves customers and members by delivering results while putting the customer/member first. Strives for excellence by consistently raising the bar and seeking to improve.

Requirements

  • Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade OR 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
  • License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located.
  • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines.
  • Inspects, cleans, and repairs facilities equipment or fixtures.
  • Observes and documents signs of wear and tear, gathers capital expense information, recommends repair needs, and determines replacement needs.
  • Performs major and minor repairs on facilities equipment or fixtures utilizing multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment).
  • Inspects, operates, or tests facilities equipment or fixtures to diagnose issues.
  • Dismantles equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts.
  • Diagnoses problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.
  • Utilizes hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment.
  • Provides prompt response to emergency calls and documents repair activities.
  • Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information.
  • Conducts price comparison of parts and travel-related costs, orders parts and replacement equipment, and tracks orders.
  • Records purchases and usage, submits warranty claims.
  • Complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensures quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensures contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and meet contract requirements.
  • Identifies and reports deficiencies.
  • Unloads and stores equipment and transports equipment between facilities.
  • Demonstrates uptodate expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others.
  • Builds relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
