About The Position

The RION Equipment Field Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing scheduled preventive maintenance on a variety of RION Equipment models. This role ensures high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering expert service directly at the customer’s site or in the field.

Requirements

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license; driving is essential.

  • Diagnose and repair major systems: electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, LP, steering, transmissions, and engines.
  • Perform tune-ups and preventive maintenance independently.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical systems on IC and electric trucks.
  • Use and maintain special and standard tools properly.
  • Conduct failure analysis across all equipment systems.
  • Mentor apprentice mechanics through hands-on training.
  • Identify, order, and return parts accurately.
  • Perform hydraulic cylinder tests and safety checks.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Diagnose and repair major systems: electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, LP, steering, transmissions, and engines.
  • Perform tune-ups and preventive maintenance independently.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical systems on IC and electric trucks.
  • Prepare for daily operations by reviewing schedules and checking tools/supplies.
  • Use and maintain special and standard tools properly.
  • Verify warranties and manage core/remanufactured part returns.
  • Conduct failure analysis across all equipment systems.
  • Safely operate service van (field roles) and follow safety protocols.
  • Mentor apprentice mechanics through hands-on training.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and follow company policies.
  • Identify, order, and return parts accurately.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license; driving is essential.
  • Complete all required documentation and reports daily.
  • Provide repair quotes and reference flat rate pricing.
  • Assist with parts handling and cleaning as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current on equipment.
  • Perform hydraulic cylinder tests and safety checks.
  • Maintain a clean, compliant work area per safety and contamination standards.
