Requirements

  • Proven experience operating and maintaining heavy machinery and powered equipment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Valid DOT certification and knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Strong skills in landscape maintenance, including trimming, mowing, and use of cutting equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and ensure operational readiness.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with management, third-party providers, and facility users.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and lead teams to meet quality and safety requirements.
  • Commitment to adhering to OSHA, EPA, and company policies and procedures.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
  • 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry

Nice To Haves

  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain exterior facility equipment, including heavy machinery and powered tools, ensuring compliance with safety and certification standards.
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance such as snow and ice management, landscaping, trimming, mowing, and applying deicing materials to maintain safe conditions.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot equipment or facility issues to meet operational and safety requirements.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, inspections, and documentation to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Coordinate purchases, cost estimates, and warranty claims for parts and equipment.
  • Lead and support third-party providers and team members to promote professional growth and operational excellence.
