About The Position

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for managing exterior facility operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, operating heavy machinery, managing budgets, and leading third-party providers. The technician supports continuous improvement efforts, resolves customer concerns, and enforces company policies and standards. Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with management and facility users are essential to successfully maintaining facility standards and operational efficiency. The Exterior Services Technician team ensures safe, clean, and efficient facility operations by managing projects, coordinating maintenance, and adhering to safety and environmental standards. Team members collaborate to troubleshoot issues, optimize resources, and support operational goals through clear communication and accountability. Committed to continuous improvement, the team delivers high-quality exterior services aligned with company standards. Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
  • 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry
  • Proven experience operating and maintaining heavy machinery and powered equipment in compliance with safety and certification standards.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Ability to manage budgets, including cost estimation, purchase approvals, and expense documentation.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer service issues effectively.
  • Competence in coordinating third-party providers and leading teams to foster professional growth.
  • Proficient in vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and compliance with company policies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety and certification standards.
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management, to ensure safe facility conditions.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot facility issues to meet operational and safety requirements.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, inspections, and documentation to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Coordinate purchases, control costs, and submit warranty claims for parts and equipment.
  • Lead and develop third-party providers, fostering professional growth and performance.
  • Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies, promoting a safe and ethical work environment.
