We serve the Private Development and Public Infrastructure markets with core offerings of Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, and Field Services. No matter the project or scope, our clients enjoy problem-solving and service that goes beyond the expected. We are looking for a CMT Technician to join our Lowell, AR team as an intern.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in using industry-standard software and applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and contractors.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in recording and analyzing data.
  • Valid and clean driver's license, as regular travel to job sites is required.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and physical examination as per company policy.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds at waist level and up to 50 pounds to shoulder level.
  • Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and to navigate tight spaces and climb ladders or scaffolding as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications or vocational training in construction, materials testing, or related fields is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the construction industry or materials testing is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field inspections of construction projects, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Perform materials testing, including but not limited to soil compaction, concrete slump, asphalt density, and aggregate properties.
  • Collect samples from job sites and transport them to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
  • Perform laboratory tests on construction materials, such as concrete, soil, and asphalt, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Record and analyze test data accurately and meticulously, ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed reports, documenting findings, test results, and any necessary recommendations or corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that construction projects meet specified standards and requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including OSHA regulations, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge and skills in construction materials testing and inspection techniques through training and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper handling and storage of testing equipment and materials.
