About The Position

The Component Rebuild Technician at NMC is responsible for repairing components in the shop to meet customer expectations. This includes disassembling, assembling, and performing failure analysis on a wide range of components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, axles, hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, fuel pumps, and undercarriage parts. Requirements

  • Repairing components in the shop to meet customer expectations.
  • Disassembling, assembling, and performing failure analysis on a wide range of components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, axles, hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, fuel pumps, and undercarriage parts.
  • Use of service manuals, diagnostic software, and parts catalogs.
  • Confirming warranty coverage for applicable parts.
  • Managing the return of cores and remanufactured components.
  • Conducting failure analysis on all components.
  • Completing all necessary documentation, including work orders, warranty forms, and SIMS reports.
  • Recording labor time and managing parts orders and returns.
  • Participating in job-related training and development classes.
  • Performing planned maintenance inspections, safety checks, and operational tests.
  • Analyzing diagnostic data to prepare accurate, detailed, and cost-effective quotes, pricing estimates, and parts orders.
  • Assisting with loading, unloading, and cleaning equipment.
  • Conducting pre- and post-delivery inspections on machines.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble customer components—including engines, transmissions, differentials, axles, hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, fuel pumps, and undercarriage parts—within a temperature- and contamination-controlled shop environment.
  • Use service manuals, diagnostic software, and parts catalogs to identify malfunctions, verify repair specifications, and determine required parts.
  • Confirm warranty coverage for applicable parts and manage the return of cores and remanufactured components.
  • Conduct failure analysis on all components.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including work orders, warranty forms, and SIMS reports; record labor time and manage parts orders and returns.
  • Participate in job-related training and development classes to maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment serviced by NMC.
  • Perform planned maintenance inspections, safety checks, and operational tests according to established guidelines.
  • Analyze diagnostic data to prepare accurate, detailed, and cost-effective quotes, pricing estimates, and parts orders.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and cleaning equipment as needed.
  • Conduct pre- and post-delivery inspections on machines prior to customer delivery when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
