About The Position

The Seasoning Technician supports the Culinary Development & Design (CD&D) team in the development, evaluation, and maintenance of seasoning blends and food products. This role is responsible for preparing product samples, executing formulations, conducting product evaluations, maintaining laboratory and kitchen workspaces, and assisting with research and development projects from concept through commercialization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, including several hours at a time.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 0–3 years of experience in the food industry, restaurant operations, product development, or a laboratory environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare seasoning blends and food prototypes according to established formulas and procedures.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and document ingredients using laboratory equipment and standardized methods.
  • Assist Food Scientists with new product development, product optimization, formulation modifications, and maintenance of existing products.
  • Prepare product samples for internal evaluations, customer presentations, and production trials with speed and accuracy.
  • Support sensory evaluations by preparing samples and recording observations and data.
  • Work independently on routine assignments while seeking guidance on complex issues or decisions as needed.
  • Provide technical support to the Sauces, Spray Dry, and Flavors product development teams, including sample preparation, formulation execution, product evaluations, and laboratory activities as needed.
  • Maintain ingredient inventory in collaboration with other laboratory technicians.
  • Maintain accurate records of formulations, testing activities, and sample preparation.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe laboratories and kitchen workspaces.
  • Follow written procedures, project instructions, and testing protocols while meeting project timelines.
  • Use Microsoft Office and other software applications to document projects, organize data, and communicate results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Sales, to support product development activities.
  • Prepare and ship product samples to customers using UPS and FedEx shipping systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
