The role of Apprentice is an entry level position for individuals interested in building a career in the low voltage electrical systems industry, including security, audio/visual, telecom, and health care communication installations. Under the supervision of licensed technicians, the Apprentice will assist with the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of low voltage systems while learning trade skills through hands on experience and classroom training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid drivers' license required.
  • Willingness to enter a state approved Low Voltage apprenticeship program, and complete all associated school coursework.
  • Security Clearance required.
  • Basic understanding of construction practices and job site safety.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in technical/ low voltage work
  • Ability to travel throughout New England as required (RI, MA, NH, ME)
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation
  • Must be able to work off hours if/when projects require it (second and third shift)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with low voltage systems as described herein, a plus.
  • OSHA safety awareness preferred (training will be provided).
  • OSHA 10 preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of low voltage systems under the supervision of licensed technicians.
  • Learn trade skills through hands on experience and classroom training.
  • Follow wiring diagrams and technical instructions to complete installations and repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Manager, Project Supervisors, and clients.
  • Use basic hand and power tools safely.
