Requirements

  • Associates degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent coursework.
  • 5 years of experience as an industrial technician.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams or schematics.
  • Experienced in Mig and Tig welding.
  • Proficiency with shop math, hand tools and some understanding of mechanical gauges.
  • Demonstrated ability using a variety of hand/Power tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of mechanical problems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various construction and installation tasks on continuous improvement and rearrangement projects as assigned by the Director - Facilities Engineering & Maintenance or his designate.
  • Work closely with various Product Divisions, Support Organizations, contractors, consultants, and other Facilities personnel.
  • Measure, snap lines, work from ladders, dismantle, read and interpret drawings and layouts for rearrangement scope, disconnect and reconnect equipment and machinery.
  • Cut, bend and install/dismantle existing piping systems, cut, thread and assemble piping, properly terminate piping valves and accessories.
  • Dismantle/assemble pallet and tub racking, pan racks, and SUS tubular carts.
  • Anchor equipment and accessories to concrete floors, walls, etc.
  • Dismantle/assembly of roller conveyor.
  • Rigging and movement of equipment both manually and operating a forklift truck.
  • Reading layouts, diagrams, project commissioning documents, and material lists with ability to conduct field surveys.
  • Mild rigging and mill work.
  • Assisting other Facilities personnel with survey or engineering and construction task work.
  • Exercising some judgment and making decisions on assigned projects.
  • Use appropriate welding gases to produce quality welds and set up fixtures for a variety of welding assignments.
  • Fabrication, installation, and detailed assembly work as required, and production rearrangements.
