About The Position

The Technician 2, Production, performs installation responsibilities reporting directly to the Production Control & Maintenance Manager. They are required to have the ability to perform all installs that are offered by JPW Industries, assist the manager as requested. Requires moderate to heavy lifting, the moving of product to various locations within the warehouse, preparation of product for shipment, driving a forklift in a safe and responsible manner, and other duties required for the intended purpose of preparing product for a safe and damage-free shipment to the customer.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Must have the ability to comprehend multiple instructions and perform basic math skills.
  • Must have knowledge of a body of rules, regulations, policies or operations requiring considerable training and experience to apply to a variety of standard situations.
  • Must have no lifting restrictions and be able to twist back and forth, and to push and pull product of any considerable weight.
  • Able to use power tools, manual tools, hand truck, forklift, electric cart, telephone, computer, copier and calculator.
  • Must adhere to company policy of wearing safety shoes at all times while working in the warehouse and adhering to safety rules
  • Work in the Installation area under the supervision of the Production Supervisor.
  • Physical activities include operating a forklift and/or hand truck, moving equipment from one place to another, the unloading of containers containing Large Lathes, Radial Drills.
  • There is moderate lifting required, anywhere from 25 pounds up to 125 pounds (with assistance) and the pushing and/or pulling of equipment.
  • Interact with all personnel in the warehouse and distribution center, as needed.
  • Public contact consists of freight carrier personnel, customers, truck drivers and outside agencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced understanding of machinery and hand and power tools, etc. is recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Must have the ability to perform the complete installation and testing of all designated non-CNC machine accessories and services.
  • Must be proficient with a variety of equipment to prepare trade-show displays.
  • Must be familiar with a variety of woodworking and metalworking equipment in order to assist with fabricating/modifying special machine components.
  • Must be certified to operate required types of equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP, including RF devices if applicable.
  • Basic knowledge of Transportation functions.
  • Additional responsibilities and projects as may be assigned relevant to the position.
