About The Position

The Technician 2, Electronics, CCTV/LAN, Technology Repair, will perform skilled technical duties in installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of electronic equipment. The Technician 2, Electronics, CCTV/LAN, Technology Repair, duties are performed under the general supervision of an immediate supervisor who evaluates performance through observation of work, periodic conferences, and/or records and reports.

Requirements

A high school diploma, vocational, or GED certificate.
Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in installation, maintenance and/or repair of various types of electronic equipment.
Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
Writes routine reports and correspondence.
Speaks effectively before groups of individuals.
Adds and subtracts two digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s.
Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Deals with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

Degree or formal training in computer technology is preferred.
Completion of formal course work in an electronic related area at an institution above high school level may substitute on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of experience.
Possession of Comptia A+ and/or Network+, and vendor certifications may be required prior to the end of the normal six-month probationary period.

Responsibilities

Performs maintenance and/or repair of equipment such as computers, servers, printers, copiers, uninterrupted power supply (UPS), network electronics, audio visual, electronic white board, and other electronic equipment used at school and administrative sites.
Moves, stores, and sets up electronic equipment at schools, maintenance, and administrative sites undergoing renovations or construction.
Troubleshoots diagnoses and repairs computers, servers, printers, copiers, fax machine, UPS, networking equipment, audio visual, electronic white board, and other electronic equipment used at school and administrative sites.
Programs network electronics for operation within district’s network.
Identifies and orders parts required for repairs.
Maintains use and updates work order system.
Understands and practices shop safety standards and requirements.
Operates various types of electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters and the like.
Works in a team environment and takes instruction from team leaders.
Drives district-owned vehicles and maintain good driving record and have a driver's license for a minimum of 5 years.
Performs any other duties as assigned.
