Senior Technical Writer (Remote)

Optro
$96,000 - $132,000Remote

About The Position

As a Technical Writer at Optro, you will play a key role in ensuring our customer- and developer-facing content is clear, accurate, and delivered on a reliable cadence. You will work closely with Product, Engineering & Design (PED) teams and cross-functional stakeholders to produce high-quality documentation and content — with a strong emphasis on using AI tooling to streamline and scale how content is collected, drafted, and published.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical writer or technical support role with a writing component in a B2B SaaS or similar technical environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience building or improving repeatable processes and scalable workflows, ideally within a documentation, content, or operations context
  • Experience working within documentation systems, style guides, or content standards — and a strong instinct for consistency and quality
  • Solid understanding of Knowledge Base & CMS tools
  • A bias toward proposing and driving solutions, not just surfacing pain points or blockers — this role requires ownership through to resolution
  • An entrepreneurial mindset — you're energized by building and are comfortable navigating ambiguity

Nice To Haves

  • Domain knowledge of the Governance, Risk and Compliance space
  • Experience or strong interest in using AI tools to improve writing and content workflows
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product teams and other stakeholders to draft, edit, and publish accurate, well-structured product content on a reliable cadence.
  • Own and continuously improve an AI-assisted workflow for collecting source material, drafting, and preparing content for publication — in accordance with Optro's data handling and usage guidelines — while maintaining ownership of accuracy, tone, and final quality.
  • Maintain well-structured, easily navigable content so users can quickly find what they need.
  • Strengthen foundational content structure, information architecture, and terminology to reduce friction for the people who rely on it.
  • Build reusable resources — style guides, templates, and contribution workflows — that enable others to contribute content at scale, rather than relying on a single owner for all output.
  • Continuously evolve content and structure to keep pace with how the business and its users actually operate.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as product managers, engineers, product marketing, and support teams to gather information and ensure content consistently and accurately reflects new features and changes.
  • Identify documentation and process gaps and propose improvements — including opportunities for further automation.
