About The Position

The National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC) Division of the Leidos Fed Civ IT Business Area currently has an opening for a Technical Writer. This position will be part of a dynamic team working to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Oklahoma City at their Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center location. The Tech Writer will provide the AJW-142 En Route Surveillance Team, Long Range Radar (AJW-142) technical writing services at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC). Primary Responsibilities Ability to support timely, accurate, relevant analytical production, to include documents, summaries, issue papers, talking points, and briefings. Strong ability to quickly and effectively gather requirements, perform research, compile information, prioritize and collate, draft, edit, and produce high-quality documentation that satisfies customer needs with minimal follow-on work needed. Demonstrated proficiency working in a fast-paced collaborative environment, ability to proactively multi-task and meet short deadlines, and possess excellent writing and grammatical skills. Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey complex and technical data to non-technical consumers. Requirements

  • Requires BS degree and 4 to 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 to 6 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Applicants must have a good understanding of the principles, standards, and best practices of written communication.
  • The position requires someone that will be able to work independently to ensure documents meet governmental standards, and also be able to collaborate with team members and customers to produce high-quality written products for the customer.
  • Good communication skills are essential, as the position will have a significant impact on the customer's perception of our team's professionalism and performance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain FAA Public Trust Suitability.
