About The Position

Sabot Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to support our client. This role requires a detail‑driven documentation specialist with experience producing high‑quality technical artifacts for large‑scale IT modernization initiatives. The Technical Writer will support IV&V and Quality Assurance activities by developing, organizing, and maintaining clear, accurate, and compliant documentation across Stage 3 and Stage 4 deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent qualifying work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of IT technical writing experience (may include specialist or research assistant roles in technical fields).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing complex technical documentation with expert‑level proficiency.
  • Minimum 2 years supporting the development of RFPs, RFIs, and other IT solicitation documents supporting State government.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting digital transformations or large system modernization efforts.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, case management systems, or licensing/credentialing workflows.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and maintain complex technical documentation including requirements, workflows, procurement artifacts, reports, user guides, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with IV&V and QA consultants, business analysts, technical leads, and DOJ subject‑matter experts to gather information and translate it into clear, structured content.
  • Produce compliant documentation aligned with client standards, IEEE standards, and DOJ conventions.
  • Support the creation and refinement of Stage 3 and Stage 4 documentation, including requirements traceability, solicitation materials, and quality assurance artifacts.
  • Assist in preparing RFO/RFP content, evaluation tools, and procurement‑related materials.
  • Develop documentation for solution design, data synchronization, system workflows, testing readiness, and knowledge transfer.
  • Ensure version control, consistency, accuracy, and traceability throughout document lifecycle.
  • Provide documentation support for IV&V findings, QA assessments, status reports, and executive‑level summaries.
  • Participate in working sessions (BPR, JAD, technical reviews) to capture decisions, processes, and system impacts.
  • Prepare high‑clarity diagrams, templates, matrices, and structured document layouts as required by DOJ.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, audit‑ready, and aligned with project scope, standards, and approval requirements.
