Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or other relevant field) and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with limited experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years as a Facilitator and organizer of on-the-spot training; or field service engineering experience.
  • Ability to build out-of-the-box solutions to deliver training.
  • Hands-on mentality; love high-end technical sophisticated tools and problems.
  • Proficient in English (verbal and writing).
  • People-skills, know how to bring colleagues, learners and engineers to work together in a multifaceted environment.
  • Understand how people learn and capable of imagining yourself as the learner.
  • Self-starter, who is also highly productive when not supervised.
  • Highly communicative and ability to explain difficult material.
  • Able to present in front of a larger audience.
  • Ability to energize, empower, encourage, convince and motivate learners.

Responsibilities

  • Development and delivery of Electron Microscopy training for internal and external customers.
  • Deliver technical training to a broad audience, empowering learners with highly technical content to identify, repair, and improve the use of Electron Microscopes at Thermo Fisher.
  • Train Field Service Engineers, R&D specialists, Operation Engineers, and users with varying knowledge levels.
  • Develop the newest technologies into specialized job skills that need to be translated into learning opportunities for the company via classroom training, remote instruction, hands-on practice, or e-learning material development.
  • Utilize a skills-passport for individual skills learning.
  • Develop close relations with colleagues from Global Tech Support, Customer Service, R&D/PG, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Customer training.
  • Coordinate and handle ad hoc learning solutions, either in our own training lab or on-site at customer sites.
  • Delivery of skills-based classroom training and interactive hands-on training delivery.
  • Manage the learning curves of trainees through individual interactions or classroom activities.
  • Utilize different didactic skills to transfer knowledge, through teacher-centered approaches or facilitating appropriate learning environments.
  • Translate high technical information into clear and understandable information.
  • Transform teacher-centered classroom training into e-learning.
  • Mentor trainees using appropriate skills with hands-on exercises on live tools.
  • Provide work instructions to aid during field work and training exercises.
  • Use skills-based training to accelerate trainee learning.
