About The Position

SAIC is seeking an experienced Technical Training Instructor to support a training program for technical research, development, and engineering by providing instructional expertise to newly developed courses. This position requires an active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph and is located in Chantilly, VA. Initially the instructor will support the onboarding course that will be approximately four weeks long and will run approximately six times per year, and longer term will include other courses as the occupational curriculum expands. The training may include blended and distance learning solutions, along with asynchronous and synchronous approaches to training. The training will emphasize student-centered, experiential learning that requires strong facilitation skills.

Requirements

  • Must currently hold an Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree, or relevant experience may be substituted.
  • 5 years of experience within the IC in Targeting.
  • 1 year of experience teaching or delivering to adult learners within the IC.
  • 18 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to tailor communication.
  • Proven ability to facilitate small and large groups of people with diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt new technologies for knowledge management and/or tailoring of technology to support learning needs.
  • Demonstrated ability as a self-starter.
  • Ability to team effectively.
  • Ability to regularly work outside your comfort zone.
  • Ability to adapt to emerging technologies and evolving requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering across the IC.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional expertise to newly developed courses.
  • Support the onboarding course (approximately four weeks long, running approximately six times per year).
  • Support other courses as the occupational curriculum expands.
  • Deliver training that may include blended and distance learning solutions, along with asynchronous and synchronous approaches.
  • Carry out training evaluations.
  • Support creation of a variety of training products such as guides, handbooks, and job aids.
  • Emphasize student-centered, experiential learning requiring strong facilitation skills.
  • Assert student performance, monitor progress, and provide feedback.
  • Assist the training team with course reviews and modifications between course runnings.
