About The Position

Persistent Systems LLC is seeking a Technical Trainer responsible for developing, conducting, and evaluating customer-focused hands-on technical training programs to join their team in New York City. In this dynamic role, the trainer will develop training outlines, presentations, materials, and evaluations for the company’s Wave Relay® training courses. The position also entails evaluating training programs on an ongoing basis by collecting feedback from customers and collaborating with internal teams to ensure maximally effective training programs. This includes enhancing customer-focused training programs, developing and conducting training effectiveness evaluations for online content, mentoring instructors, ensuring quality standards, conducting needs assessments, anticipating future training needs, and planning accordingly. The Technical Trainer will also direct and deliver classroom training alongside Field Application Engineers and manage course enrollments and attendance.

Requirements

  • Technical degree or equivalent knowledge/skills, preferably in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Military Communications
  • Experience conducting and evaluating customer-focused training in a classroom environment or experience speaking to groups of people
  • Understanding of networking and IP scheming
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a United States security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of radio frequencies (RF) and wireless communications
  • Knowledge of mobile ad hoc networking (MANET)
  • Networking Certification (Networks+, Security+, CCNA etc.)
  • Experience with Wave Relay® products
  • Experience conducting training for both commercial and government customers
  • Active United States security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Delivering comprehensive training programs for customer-focused Wave Relay® courses
  • Developing training outlines, presentations, course handouts, and knowledge/skills tests
  • Developing and conducting training effectiveness evaluations to continually enhance the company’s customer-focused training programs, including online training content
  • Mentoring instructors to enhance customer-focused training programs
  • Ensuring all training programs and courses meet business needs and quality standards
  • Conducting needs assessments, anticipate future training needs, and plan accordingly
  • Directing and delivering classroom training alongside Field Application Engineers
  • Manage course enrollments and attendance
