About The Position

The City of St. Peters is seeking an additional experienced and hands-on Technical (IT) Systems Coordinator to administer the City's computing infrastructure and lead our technical support team. This position is responsible for the daily management, support, planning, and implementation of the City's system servers, desktops, Active Directory (AD), M365 environment, security systems, and communications platforms. This role requires both technical expertise and leadership experience, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational reliability. Normal Shift: Mon-Friday; 8:30 pm - 5:00 pm (Schedule may vary based on City events and programs)

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, and three (3) years' experience providing technical client/server support in the currently supported Windows Server & Workstation environment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, experience and industry standard certification (e.g. Windows server administration and/or M365 administration).
  • Must have a working knowledge of virtual server environments, server operating systems, Windows AD domain, Microsoft 365 and Exchange, backup and disaster recovery solutions, Windows domain, and device security & remediation solutions.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's license valid in the state of Missouri.
  • Completion of City Supervisory Course or obtain within one (1) year.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise IT support staff, including training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and staffing recommendations.
  • Provide system administration across all City network servers, including Virtual Server Environment (VSE), data backup and recovery, AD and GPO management, and Microsoft license compliance.
  • Manage and maintain the City's M365 environment (Teams, Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, security, and licensing).
  • Administer user access and security across systems, with adherence to industry standards including PCI and CJIS.
  • Support and manage additional technical environments including VOIP, timekeeping hardware, building access, surveillance, and electronic payments.
  • Monitor system performance and perform software upgrades and routine maintenance.
  • Assist in IT budgeting, capital planning, policy development, and vendor evaluation.
  • Provide after-hours technical support, lead IT involvement in new facility projects or renovations, and deliver user training.
  • Maintain compliance with City safety procedures.
