Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent (i.e. GED) required; B.A. or A.A. in related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of HVAC field service experience.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
  • Ability to make business decisions by an analytical as well as creative process.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to communicate proficiently in English in both formats

Responsibilities

  • Develop guidelines, processes, and tools to support the increasing demand for technical sales support across branch locations.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers and internal employees regarding HVAC-R equipment and applications.
  • Assist with on-site field support for difficult or escalated jobs while refraining from performing physical installation, modification, repair, or servicing of equipment.
  • Create, coordinate, and implement technical training programs for customers and employees focused on HVAC fundamentals, equipment operation, installation best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Partner with Branch Managers and Account Managers to support and help close sales opportunities with key equipment dealers and contractors.
  • Deliver customer-focused technical training programs as a value-added service to strengthen customer relationships, improve retention, and support sales growth.
  • Develop and improve warranty and unit exchange processes to reduce unnecessary warranty claims, improve customer service response times, and streamline workflow efficiency.
  • Conduct HVAC-R technical training sessions and workshops in both classroom and hands-on learning environments using demonstrations, visual aids, and interactive instruction methods.
  • Maintain current technical knowledge of HVAC-R equipment, controls, tools, and products distributed by Johnstone Supply.
  • Provide technical service assistance to customers and employees during regular business hours and scheduled on-call support rotations.
  • Review, communicate, and help implement Technical Service Bulletins and product updates with internal teams as needed.
  • Attend meetings, manufacturer classes, vendor training sessions, and continuing education opportunities to remain current on industry trends and product changes.
  • Maintain working knowledge of new and existing products, inventory, and industry developments through ongoing training, catalogs, technical literature, and manufacturer resources.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on customer satisfaction, technical competency, operational efficiency, and sales support effectiveness.
