About The Position

Installs, modifies, and repairs computer hardware and software systems. Analyzes system performance and troubleshoots issues. Provides technical assistance and training to system users. Analyzes end user needs and orders. Installs and readies hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives. Loads software such as operating systems, office, and operations software onto computers. Responds to inquiries on systems operations, diagnosing and addressing system hardware, software, and operator issues. Provides updates, status, and completion information to management, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication. Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and related material. Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation. Monitors and maintains anti-virus programs to ensure desktop computer systems integrity. Adds, deletes, and modifies associates' profiles and system permissions as required on network servers and applications. Coordinates activities with network services or other information systems groups. Maintains software licensing records and hardware inventory to ensure effective operations and compliance. Escalates major system problems to computer operations, engineering, or application support. Performs basic telephone maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • One to two years’ help desk/computer desktop troubleshooting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in computer operating systems, desktop application software and computer hardware.
  • Travel may be required for implementing, delivering, and repairing equipment to company locations.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or completion of related coursework/certification.
